SAFIR is organized for PhD supervisors at USN, UiA, NTNU working closely with industry. The purpose of SAFIR is to strengthen research collaboration with industry and to learn from each other. The vision of the The Industrial Research School (INRESCOS) is to give PhD candidates access to research and work in companies in order to increase industrial relevance, and to help meet the industry's need for cutting-edge expertise in complex systems.
Program:
- Systems thinking related to the following three courses offered by the INRESCOS:
- Research in Industrial Context (To better understand the context, influencing factors and purpose of the industrial research)
- Systems Thinking (What is it, and why does candidates publish a paper based on the course)
- Innovation in Complex Systems (in industry using Micro Learnings)
- How to succeed in research projects with business?
- Professor Maarten Bonnema from the University of Twente holds a 2-hour seminar as part of SAFIR where the PhD candidates* are also invited to participate together with their supervisors.
The day will focus on discussions and reflections. We will also briefly discuss how we can support PhD students, as well as become a good "home" for Industrial PhDs.
As doctoral supervisors, you are key partners, and together we can strengthen our research contribution to society.
