SAFIR is organized for PhD supervisors at USN, UiA, NTNU working closely with industry. The purpose is to learn from each other and improve the industrial relevance of PhD candidates as well as own practices.
SAFIR is organised as a workshop with focus on discussions and reflections. The topics are related to the following three courses offered by the industrial research school (USN, NTNU, UiA):
- Research in Industrial Context (To better understand the context, influencing factors and purpose of the industrial research)
- Systems Thinking (What is it, and why does candidates publish a paper based on the course)
- Innovation in Complex Systems (in industry using Micro Learnings)
Recognizing supervisors as key partners, SAFIR aims to showcase the research school’s benefits for PhD candidates and invites supervisors to provide feedback on how The Industrial Research School (INRESCOS) can best support their students.
INRESCOS is designed to provide flexible support that enhances the doctoral journey for PhD candidates within technology fields. It offers various resources, such as credit-given courses, training in presentation skills, CV writing, insights into Norwegian workplace culture, and much more.
